Big Bass 3in1
I went into Big Bass 3in1 expecting a throwaway time-killer and came out mildly hooked, which is more than I can say for a lot of casual bundles. The name gives it away: it's three small fishing-themed modes stitched into one app, and you can bounce between them depending on how much attention you have to spare. One mode is a straightforward cast-and-reel loop, another leans into a light matching mechanic, and the third is more of a relaxed timing challenge.
Controls are all touch, and they're clean. You tap to cast, hold and release to reel, and the whole thing runs at a nice unhurried pace. There's a gentle sense of progression as you unlock new spots and gear, but nothing that demands a spreadsheet. Sessions are short by design, which makes it a good pick-up-put-down game for a bus ride.
What I liked most was how low-stress it feels. The art is bright and cartoonish, the sound design has that satisfying little splash on a catch, and there's no pressure to grind. It's not deep, and the three modes do start to blur together after a while, but for a calm few minutes here and there it does exactly what it sets out to do.
What we liked
- Three simple modes in one app
- Clean touch controls that anyone can pick up
- Genuinely relaxing pace and cheerful art
