Iron Tide Command
Iron Tide Command asks you to think like a commander rather than a captain. You're not steering individual ships in real time so much as managing fleets, routes and the slow squeeze of resources across a campaign map. It scratches the same itch as those big desktop strategy games, scaled down to fit a screen you can hold in one hand.
The tutorial does a decent job easing you in, but the real depth shows up a few missions later when supply lines start to matter. Overextend and you'll watch a strong fleet wither because it can't refuel. I lost a campaign to exactly that mistake and immediately wanted to try again, which is the mark of a good strategy game.
Interface is dense, and on a smaller phone it can get fiddly. On a tablet it sings. If you enjoy slow, deliberate planning over twitch reactions, this one will keep you busy for weeks.
What we liked
- Real strategic depth around supply and logistics
- Campaign that rewards long-term thinking
- Excellent on a tablet
