Neon Drift Circuit
★★★★☆ 4.2
Neon Drift Circuit doesn't pretend to be a simulator. It's pure arcade racing, all bright lights and long tail-out drifts, and it knows exactly what it wants to be. You tap to brake into a corner, hold the slide, and chain drifts for a boost. Once the rhythm clicks it feels great.
There's a decent spread of tracks and a career mode that unlocks new cars as you go. Handling is forgiving, which some sim fans will hate, but it makes the game accessible in a way I appreciated. My only real gripe is that a few later tracks reuse the same layout with a new paint job.
For quick races on the go it's hard to beat. The soundtrack is the kind of thumping synth stuff that suits the neon aesthetic, and a single race is short enough for a coffee break.
What we liked
- Satisfying drift-and-boost mechanic
- Accessible handling for pick-up play
- Great neon look and soundtrack
